High Power Beam is a skill found in The Legend of Dark Witch 2. It is the signature skill of Icke.
Effect
High Power Beam causes a wide beam as tall as the user to appear in front of them for a second or two. The beam travels as far as the edge of the screen.
If the protagonist turns around during the beam’s activation period, the beam will also turn around. The beam will also continue even if the active Main Skill is swapped.
Bossfight
Icke’s Revenge Magic is virtually identical to High Power Beam. The difference is that she telegraphs the move by charging her staff for a second before using the move. Additionally, Icke cannot turn around while using the move, although the protagonist can.
Super Effective
High Power Beam is the weakness of Litty, causing large amounts of damage to Litty as well as completely destroying her clone if one is present.
Upgrade
High Power Beam can be upgraded like the other weapons in The Legend of Dark Witch 2. High Power Beam's upgrade increases its range vertically.
The Legend of Dark Witch 3
While the Technical Skill itself does not appear in this game, a magic item known as High Beam is usable in the game. Functionally, it acts identical to upgraded High Power Beam in The Legend of Dark Witch 2. The only difference is that, being a magic item, it can only be used 3 times before the player dies or clears the stage, as opposed to the uses being tied to the Capacity Gauge.
Trivia
- The move was stylized “High power beam” in The Legend of Dark Witch 2.
- Although the skill is based on Icke’s Revenge Magic, Icke’s Revenge Magic is actually called “BEAM de DOOOOON!” The skills are virtually identical though.
