I'm Mali. A former Bureaucrat of the The Legend of Dark Witch Wiki and the Co-Owner of Blad's Dark Witch Discord. For those who are reading this (if anyone even bothers reading it), your probably looking for me to find out as to why I've left the Dark Witch Community as a whole. And I've strongly decided that I should put these reasons out on my profile so that if Brave Dungeon 2 or anything else turns out to be a bad turning point to the communityz you'll look back at the people critising the game and actually put their responses inside of your brain and move on. This only goes out to the people who only actually defend NAN-A's actions, by the way. Now here's why I've left The Legend of Dark Witch Community.
The Games
To be fully honest, the games were fun. Although in comparison to the games that I've played during this... "era" of me, the games fall back in terms of gameplay, design, and such. You're probably well aware about how I've always ranted about how the game looks the same as always with how much the companies reuse the sprites and such? You may be saying that it it's not a big deal. But for me, it is. This is a 2010s game franchise starting from the Touhou games, and some of the aspects of that period of NAN-A still lingers within Brave Dungeon 2. Not to mention that the composer, Raito. His music is very good and wonderful, and I like his works for this series, but at the same time, after listening to most of the songs he made, they all sound simialr to each other with the instruments he chooses. I hear it in every game he's worked on. Even Melty Blood.
While the games are pretty standard (except BD2), they aren't as good as to what other games I've played. The only reason I've gotten obsessed with the game is...
The Community
And here's what's probably going to be the biggest part of this user page. The community. I don't even know what to say about it anymore. I've first started getting touched with this place by the Dark Witch Amino, where I've met all kinds of lovely people there and I barely had issues with them. Derpy Devil and the other Admins and mods have done a fantastic job working together to make the experience better for it. It kinda died out once people started bringing links up to the Discord Server (which I'll get into later), and this, including practically no major information during 2019 and 2020 had killed the Amino, making Derpy Archive it sometime around 2022.
And now the Discord. This is what hurt my love and kindness for Dark Witch. I had too many fights. I had too many conflicts. I had too many friends that turned into mindless freaks because I didn't like them for who they are (even though their the ones that have the problem). Granted, I've met a couple of nice people, but this was during the Miraheze Wiki proccess, but my mind can't stand how much issues I'd have with the members. I won't go name them all, but hell, I used to have a friend that I've been in a relationship for 2-3 YEARS. and all it took was a simple betrayal that they didn't even genuinely apologise for. I had to get rid of them, and seeing that they took it as an insult, they've gotten rid of me too. They even talked back behind me, and even tried to make fun of me. I CAN'T STAND THE FRUSTRATION OF THIS.
And then, with the Discord, they even get to be a moderator of the original server that I had issues with. There's literally children that love Tiktok inside of this place, claiming that it's a therapy for them. I have never seen an individual say this In my life. Ever. I know people that use Tiktok, but "Threapy?" Threapy. I don't even know if they were kidding or not. And then the admins would go as far as to kick some random person for saying something that shouldn't be said and gotten banned for it, but a 30 year old man that's relatable to many can do it to someone else won't? The moderation sucks, the people need improvements, everything needs to either move on, or improve itself. Yeah y'all haven't dealt with major critism for a while, but you can't shun it out when it comes out of the hole for the first time in years. And don't go threatening people for it, either.
I would love to continue working on this message, but I can't. The Legend of Dark Witch is an Indie game series that was a big mistake of me entering. I have to find more games to play. If you're read all of the say to the end, congrats. I probably won't be messaging others, but I still exist on my Twitter (you'll have to find it), and on Discord. If I'm missing any important events, I don't care because I've mentioned it many times in the last and it's gonna take a bit of brain power to actually remember it.Until then, this is Mali signing our for good.
