Verri is a knight debuting in The Legend of Dark Witch.
Appearance and Personality
Verri is a woman with long silver hair. She wears armor on top of a blue dress, along with a headpiece with wings on each side. She battles with a large sword imbued with a Syega crystal.
Being the leader of Rasil's Royal Army, Verri is stern, serious, and fiercely loyal to Princess Riva.
History
The Legend of Dark Witch
Verri is the boss of the Forest of Dreams, the game's seventh stage. She attempts to stop Zizou Olympia from entering the Deep Remains, but ultimately fails.
She repeats the following attacks in order (On Easy and Normal, she begins the battle using her first attack; On Lunatic she begins using her second attack):
- Verri takes a mighty leap into the air, before slamming her sword straight down. The attack is slow and predictable, but the sword has a large hitbox.
- Verri rushes forward, disappears for a split second, than reappears while performing a downward slash. Verri will always reappear moving towards the player from her position from when she disappeared.
- At yellow health, Verri uses her sword to throw a mighty gust of wind straight forward. The gust is quite fast and must be anticipated to dodge.
- At red health, Verri spins in the air 3 times, shooting needles in 7 different directions (Clockwise if she is facing to the right, counter clockwise if she is facing to the left). One of the needles in each set of 3 always aims directly at the player. She then falls to the ground, still spinning, and slamming it. Verri's spins cannot hurt the player, but her final slam can.
Unlike every other boss, none of Verri's attacks have any sort of different properties based on difficulty. However, like other bosses, Verri's time between attacks does decrease the higher difficulty you are, making dodging her quite tough on Lunatic, as she can perform her attacks incredibly quickly after one another.
Verri is weak to Dia Missile, which deals a significant amount of damage, though with how often Verri Moves, it can be difficult to actually hit her with it.
The Legend of Dark Witch 2
Verri cameos as part of Riva's Knight upgrade in the Steam version of the game. Once the Knight upgrade is purchased, and subsequently installed in a stage, Verri will follow Riva and slash in a wide arc each time that the player presses the attack button.
Trivia
- In Dark Witch Connect, her revenge attack is Drive Sword, which is backwards for Riva's second ability in The Legend of Dark Witch 1.
